Michael Eavis: Eavis founded the Glastonbury festival, which has become one of the premier gigs in the world for musicians and fans alike. Quincy Jones: Jones is the producer who has worked with performers such as Ray Charles, Frank Sinatra and of course the late, great MJ. Steve Jobs: In what was perhaps the best move of his career, Jobs persuaded every major record company to sell Apple the rights to market their songs on the Internet, opening the online store I-Tunes in 2003. Lily Allen: In the beginning, when her record company failed to support her, Allen opened a MySpace account and shopped her songs online. Her demos received amazing feedback, and Allen became the first of a new breed of artists who are willing to market themselves instead of relying on record companies. Radiohead: Radiohead have thrown themselves behind some big issues, supporting The Big Ask, calling for a new climate change law in the United Kingdom and fifteen other EU states. |
